“In 1281 there was the battle between the polish army and crusaders on the river Driventsa, that was Lubich. In this battle Getch and Budislav participated. They got two victories each and the evidence of this are the two crosses on the coat of arms around the lucky horseshoe. Getch descended from the Velkopolskaya land (Big Poland – the part of Poland). Getch founded there a town (settlement). It is one of the most ancient cities of the country. When the time of the Great Principality of Lithuania (GPL) and Poland union in 1385 and 1413 came, the king Iegalo sent many of his knights to the territory of GPL. One of them was Getch descendant who settled in Zhmud. According to some data he founded there the village (settlement) Getchav, that is mentioned in the documents of 1621. The offstings of the family had the a surname Gechevichi at first and then Getsevichi. One of the representatives of the family, Frantishek Getsevich, was the priest in Vilno. And Vladislav Getsevich was one of the most famous people in Vilnius province beginning from the 1700. One of the Getsevichies was the senator of  Poland Republic. Ippolit Getsevich was the marshal of the region in Vileika, that belonged to the property of Ignatiy Kurenetski. That was in 1807-1809”.
